Hosting terms and conditions (abbreviated)

Generally we do not have any issues or enforce any of our terms and conditions for hosting usage. There's nothing hidden or any rules that a reasonable person wouldn't expect. We try to by fair in terms of credit control, usage tolerance and migrations away and will always act in a manner fair to both you and us as a company.

In addition to our general abbreviated terms and our full legal terms and conditions:

  1. Payment for all hosting services, unless agreed otherwise, is in advance. Normally paid at least 7 days prior to the renewal date to allow for any problems.
  2. Contract terms are 12 month rolling. We require 30 days notice of termination notice prior to your renewal date to avoid being charged for the following month. This can be from the primary email account but we recommend recorded mail.
  3. If you opted to pay by credit card you are agreeing to continuous authority to charge the card we hold on file (securely) until the service or contract is terminated
  4. We guarantee 100% uptime and will pay pro-rate compensation for website downtime of more than 10 seconds per day witha mininum of 1 day refund and maximum of 1 full month refund
  5. We do not permit the use of a hosting account for public FTP using, peer-to-peer or filesharing.
  6. Should you decide to cancel your hosting package during your 12 month contract we will issue a credit note in full 3 month blocks, subject to 30days notice of termination. These will be refunded after any other balances on your account have been paid
  7. If you exceed the monthly download limit on your hosting package by more than half a gigabyte (0.5gb) we will automatically charge you up to the next package. This will be emailed to you and charged to your card 7 days later. If you pay by cheque or standing order these excess fees must be paid within 30 days.   8. Renewal of your hosting package will be automatic. You will receive an invoice 30 days prior to it's renewal which must be paid before the rewal date.
  9. We do not charge for card declines, standing order declines or cheque bounces at present. However, should this happen on more than 3 occasions per year we reserve to right to then charge £20 per incident.
  10. We reserve to right to ask any hosting account, giving them 30 days notice, to move their site to another provider for any reason we see fit (whilst this will only be in extreme cases). We will refund any full months paid. We will terminate accounts without notice for users sending spam or using their email or hosting facilities for illegal activities.

100% uptime guarantee

Our system monitors the availability of your website from the internet every 10 seconds. Our system also employes a live mirror of your site in a secondary datacentre. Should a failure occur our system will direct your DNS to our secondary datacentre within 10 seconds of detecting the failure. Because this relies on the DNS system and some ISP cache DNS names for hours or even a day or two, your site may not necessarily be accessible until their ISP has refreshed it's DNS cache. Computers tend to cache DNS lookups too (this can be fixed by a restart, cache floush or forced refresh). For the vast majority of internet useres and visitors this will not be a problems. Our 100% uptime guarantee does not include non access due to external caching or routing issues.

Money Back gurantee

If you are not entirely satisfied with your hosting at any time we will refund your money. If this is within the first 3 months of your hosting contract we will refund 100% of the hosting cost (hosting only, not domains or other services). After 3 months we reserve the right to refund only your remaining usage if we deem that your reasons for leaving are not a reflection of bad service. This is a policy to prevent customers from getting a great service and then trying to get that for free!
